Expert discusses Lyme disease

Speaking at York Hospital, he said ‘two worlds’ disagree on treatment.
Dr. Jerry Green, a Connecticut rheumatologist, decided to check his luggage that contained eight vials of dead ticks when he boarded a plane for a trip to York County.
He didn’t want problems with airport security before his presentation on Lyme disease Thursday morning at York Hospital.
Likely, many doctors in attendance had seen some of the ticks before and treated patients with Lyme disease.
Yet in the United States, diagnosis and treatment continues to be controversial, Green said. (more…)
