Keeping More Species Around May Dilute Disease Threat

A study on Panamanian rats and hantavirus suggests another and less obvious benefit to biodiversity a ‘ it may diminish the threat humans face from zoonotic diseases by diluting the reservoir of animals carrying pathogens.
