North County resident diagnosed with first local case of rare tick-borne relapsing fever

Someone living in the North County has this year’s first locally diagnosed case of tick-borne relapsing fever, an ailment that can cause a fever, body aches, headaches and chills, the county Public Health Department reported Thursday.
